Some extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Our debating teams recently competed at a local primary school, with selected students in years 4-6 creating strong arguments, improving critical thinking, and building confidence in public speaking.
Gardening Club
Our school is proud to offer a beautiful gardening area, lovingly created and maintained by our students with the support of teachers and parent volunteers. This hands-on opportunity allows students to collaborate, develop responsibility, and connect with nature as they care for the garden and help maintain our school grounds. It’s a wonderful way for students to contribute to our school community while learning valuable skills.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves.
Recently, our senior choir was selected once again to participate in the 2025 North Coast Compass Music Festival in Woolgoolga, NSW. This festival brought together rural schools for a large-scale concert.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Teven-Tintenbar students often have two opportunities to go on overnight school excursions, once in Stage 2 (Year 3 or 4) and again in Stage 3 (Year 5 or 6), creating lasting memories.
In recent years, Stage 2 students visited Currumbin Valley Campus, where they participated in activities focused on the local environment, conservation, and Indigenous Australian culture.
Stage 3 students took a multi-day trip down to Canberra, visiting key locations such as Parliament House, the Museum of Australian Democracy, and Questacon.
